The Janesville Area Convention & Visitors Bureau Inc. is an independent, non-profit 501 (c) 6 Corporation. Our mission is to lead, support and promote the convention and visitor industry in this area by promoting Janesville as a prime visitor destination thereby creating economic impact and enhancing the quality of life for Janesville residents.

JATV-12 is Janesville’s award-winning local public access television station which has been on the air since July 1997. the mission of the station is to provide information, educational, and entertaining local programs that reflect the community and the area. Training and equipment is available for local arts groups to tape events for television broadcast. The Community Calendar is available to promote the local arts events. JATV viewers appreciate programs featuring area orchestras, bands, choral groups, artists, writers, and entertainers. For more info: (608) 758-6618.

The normally solitary act of knitting has become more communal with stitchers who gather together each week at 3 locations: Basics Natural Food Coop, 1711 Lodge Dr., Janesville, from 6-8p.m. each Thursday and Stitch ‘n Bitch II (SnB II) every Monday 1:30-3:30 p.m. at the Speak Easy, 19 N. High St., Janesville. If you’re specifically interested in learning to spin, knit, or crochet, OR you’d like to buy some FOs (“Finished Objects”) visit Stitch ‘n Assist, every Saturday at the Odd Fellows Hall, 22 N. Main St., Janesville,  from 10a.m-Noon. Enjoy coffee, dodging skeins of run-away yarn, stitching and conversation. Even new knitters who aren’t yet consumed by the growing popularity of the art – or other needleworkers who crochet, embroider, cross stitch, etc. – can enjoy an time spent stitching with others providing the further opportunity to learn and get advise. We welcome all ages and genders of needle-crafty people with different levels of expertise. Join us for Stitch ‘n Pitch baseball games, field trips to area fiber farms, as vendors at the Janesville Farmer’s Market, and much more.
