United Arts Alliance Scholarship Program
United Arts Alliance offers scholarships each year to students in Rock County, both traditional and non-traditional, who have been active in the arts.
The United Arts Alliance of Rock County will be awarding a scholarship to a graduating senior, an adult seeking an undergraduate degree, and/or returning college student to further their undergraduate education in any field. The scholarship will be awarded to a Rock County resident. The applicant must show active involvement in some form of the arts and in the Rock County community.
Started in 1996, United Arts Alliance is a 501 c(3) non profit organization, that works to promote arts and to connect artists. Every year, UAA presents Janesville Area Creativity awards, which recognize creativity of all sorts in our area. This event raises money for UAA’s scholarship fund.

Listed below are the qualifications, instructions and procedures applicants are to follow in order to be considered.
- Applicant must show active involvement in some form of the arts. The arts include but are not limited to theater (performing or technical), music, visual art, advocacy for art and forensics.
- Applicant must show active involvement in the Rock County community.
- Applicant must complete the 2016 UAA Scholarship Application form.
- Applicant must send a resume stating previous accomplishments, involvements and future goals
- Applicant must send a letter of recommendation from a teacher or other colleague
- The completed application, resume and letter of recommendation must be sent by April 15, 2016.

Claire Gorman of Janesville, WI – Entering the University of Wisconsin – Madison as a freshman to study Biomedical Engineering with a minor in Spanish.
Hannah Northup of Janesville, WI – Entering Minneapolis College of Art and Design as a freshman to study Illustration and Graphic Design.
Taylor Turben of Milton, WI – Entering either UW Eau Claire as a freshman to study Communicative Sciences and Disorders with the goal to earn her doctorate in Audiology.
2012 Scholarship Recipients
Samuel W. Burns (Beloit, WI) Entering Carroll University as a freshman to study Business Administration and Management.
Robert T. Lyke ( Milton, WI) Entering UW Steven’s Point to study Geography or Secondary Education.
Declan Boran-Ragotzy (Janesville, WI) Returning as a junior at Carroll University majoring in Spanish with a minor in Secondary Education.
Danielle Ringhand (Evansville, WI) Entering UW Rock County as a freshman to study Art.
2011 Scholarship Recipients
The recipients were chosen from a pool of 25 applicants.
Previously honored for her painting being a UAA Arts Hall of Fame fine arts inductee, is now entering senior year at UW-Whitewater studying Political Science with a minor in Philosophy.
A Craig H.S. graduate entering his junior year at UW-Madison studying to be a Secondary Math Educator while working as a comic strip artist, photographer and Graphics Editor at the campus newspaper, the Daily Cardinal, and as a part of the tech crew at the UW Memorial Union Theater.
A recent Craig H.S. graduate entering as a freshman at UW-Oshkosh to do a double major in both Pre-Med and Spanish.
